These squares are fragments of the world and come from my fascination with broken remnants of pottery found in old gardens; so often more enticing in what they might have been than a complete dish or cup that hides no mystery. They are a moment in place and time,leaving the imagination to travel outward from the tight boundaries of the twelve inch square.
